Lunchtime and After School Clubs

Our aim is to enrich our curriculum by providing as wide a range of lunchtime and after school clubs as possible. For this reason, we welcome suggestions and links to providers. Please also see information about our daily wrap-around care offer. For clubs run by external providers, please use the contact details below. Summer term (second half) 2023

Guitar & ukulele lessons

Richard Holmes has been teaching guitar for about 30 years and has done so at a range of local schools. He teaches students rock to pop, metal to jazz, acoustic folk to classical and everything in between. He normally teaches ukulele from year 1 and the guitar from year 2 (depending on the size of student and instrument).

Lessons cost £13 for twenty minutes and payment is a term in advance, please contact Richard on rholmesguitar@outlook.com if you are interested.

Piano lessons

Dom has been teaching music for more than 15 years, privately and in music conservatories has a PGCert in Higher Education. A passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated tutor, teaching piano, music theory and composition. Everybody learns in a different way and enjoys different things. Every student will have a personalised plan and path, creating a learning experience focused on their need, time constraints and goals.

Ballet

Jill Bridger School of Dance offer ‘creative and imaginative’ ballet classes on Mondays: Nursery and Reception – 3:45-4:15pm. Year 1 upwards – 4:15-4:45pm.

First Aid club

Run by Maria Sorrentino, parent, and Miss Draper, KS2 teacher, on Thursday lunchtimes. This club is open to children from Rec to Y6 and is an opportunity for them to learn some basic first aid skills.

Code Ninjas – KS2

Learn to code with Minecraft Education Edition lessons, starting with MakeCode Word Blocks, followed by a typed programming language in Python. Wednesdays at either 3:15-4:15pm or 4:30-5:30pm. To sign up click here.

Code Ninjas – KS1

Children learn to code and code to learn with blocks of code in ScratchJR, Minecraft Education Edition and Microsoft MakeCode. This is a continuation of a 12 week block of sessions which began in November. Wednesdays at either 3:15-4:15pm or 4:30-5:30pm. To sign up click here.

Nature & Gardening Club

Wednesdays 3:15-4:15pm, run by Mr Fish. £5 donation for the half-term, plus any gardening equipment you can spare. Please contact the office to book a place.

JLR Multi-sports club

Thursdays, 3:15 – 4:30pm for Reception to Year 6. Please contact sportworks2022@yahoo.com for more details and to book places.

Tang Soo Do martial arts

Tang Soo Do class runs on Tuesdays from  3.15 – 4.15pm at a cost of £3 per session.
