52 Place Nursery
Marleigh Nursery is a 52 place nursery for children aged 3 to 4 years old.
The Nursery is open in term-time from 8 am to 6 pm (with children joining older children in our breakfast and after-school club outside of academy hours).
We are very excited to be making plans to welcome our first ever nursery cohort in September. The building is taking shape, including the bespoke and voluminous internal and external nursery spaces. Based on current predicted numbers, we are planning on nursery and reception children sharing spaces and staff for at least the beginning of the academic year. With this in mind, we have appointed two fantastic qualified teachers who will be supported by a team of qualified nursery practitioners. This will enable very effective age and stage appropriate learning and provide a seamless transition for nursery children into reception the following year.
Our Early Years areas will be full of exciting, practical learning opportunities. A place where children explore and develop their understanding supported by high quality adult focus on early language and the vocabulary, they need to access advanced understanding. The inside and outside environment will demonstrate the value we place on making sure all children have a fabulous, exciting and appropriate start to their education.
From the academy term after their 3rd birthday, all 3 and 4 year olds are funded for 15 hours per week and some may be eligible for 30 hours funding (see https://www.gov.uk/30-hours-free-childcare).
Children are expected to attend a minimum of two sessions a week. The places will be allocated on a first come basis on the following criteria:
1. Pre-school children who have a sibling attending Marleigh Primary Academy.
2. Pre-school children who live in the catchment area for Marleigh Primary Academy.
3. Children who live outside the catchment area.
Funded term-time sessions
|Session||Hours per day|
|8.45 am – 11.45 am||3 hours|
|8.45 am – 2.45 pm||6 hours|
|1.30 pm – 4.30 pm||3 hours|
Meals and snacks
Healthy hot or cold lunches are available every day at 12.30 pm (cost to be confirmed). Breakfast is included in the cost between 8 am- 8.30am. All children get free fruit during the morning and a snack (such as crumpet, fruit-loaf or toast) is included in the cost at 3.30 pm.
All sessions in addition to funded hours are £5 per hour. Places must be booked a half-term in advance, when invoices are sent out.
For non-funded places, there is a £50 registration fee (deducted from your first invoice). This is to secure the place and will be payable on confirmation.
Fees continue to be payable if a child is absent due to illness (including self-isolation) and due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g. closure due to severe weather). Each child’s attendance at Marleigh Nursery is conditional upon continued payment of any necessary fees. Holidays must be notified in writing at least 4 weeks in advance and will be charged at a 50% reduced rate. Please note, we require a half-term’s notice if you wish to change the number of sessions your child attends.
Marleigh Nursery is open every day during term time from 8 am to 6 pm and the staff ratios are worked out according to the legal requirements, this means that we are unable to let children start the sessions earlier or later than the sessions that have been booked and paid for. We are unable to allow access to the premises before the relevant times. A charge will be levied for late collection of £1 per minute. This will be invoiced to you by the school office.
A place at Marleigh Nursery does not guarantee a place in Marleigh Primary Academy. Please see the admission page for further details on how to apply for a Reception place.
The term dates and staff training days can be found here.
Although we are unable to offer provision during holidays, please talk to us if this is something you require and we will do what we can to help.
