Lunchtime and After School Clubs
Our aim is to enrich our curriculum by providing as wide a range of lunchtime and after school clubs as possible. For clubs run by external providers, please use the contact details below. For those run by staff please contact the school office.
Guitar & ukulele lessons
Richard Holmes has been teaching guitar for about 30 years and has done so at a range of local schools. He teaches students rock to pop, metal to jazz, acoustic folk to classical and everything in between. He normally teaches ukulele from year 1 and the guitar from year 2 (depending on the size of student and instrument).
Lessons cost £13 for twenty minutes and payment is a term in advance, please contact Richard on rholmesguitar@outlook.com if you are interested.
Piano lessons
Dom has been teaching music for more than 15 years, privately and in music conservatories, has an ABRSM Certificate for Music Educators, and a PGCert in Higher Education. A passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated tutor, teaching piano, music theory and creative music writing. Everybody learns in a different way and enjoys different things. Every student will have a personalised plan and path, creating a learning experience focused on their need, time constraints and goals.
Cost: £17.5/lesson for 30 min, £26/lesson for 45 min, £35/lesson for 60 min.

Mondays
Girls’ Football Club (Years 4–6, across Fen Ditton and Marleigh Primary Academy)
Parents are responsible for ensuring their child gets to Fen Ditton Primary School. Pupils in Years 5 and 6 may walk independently with written parental permission.
Ballet
Jill Bridger School of Dance offer ‘creative and imaginative’ ballet classes on Mondays: Nursery and Reception – 3:45-4:15pm. Year 1 upwards – 4:15-4:45pm.

Tang Soo Do martial arts
Tang Soo Do class runs on Tuesdays from 3.15 – 4.15pm at a cost of £5 per session.

Wednesdays
Code Ninjas
Explore the world of programming all year around at our Code Ninjas school club!
Students get to move at their own pace based on their skill and knowledge in coding activities such as Minecraft Education, MakeCode and more. Build a foundation of digital literacy, critical problem-solving skills and computational thinking using block-based coding and Python!
Wednesday sessions starting at both 3:15 and 4:15pm.

4D Dance
Starting on Thursday 2nd October, 4D Dance — an award-winning dance school — will be bringing their vibrant and inclusive weekly classes to Marleigh Primary School every Thursday afternoon.
Known for their creative and empowering approach, 4D Dance offers high-quality sessions that support young people to grow in confidence, creativity and self-expression. Their ethos is rooted in inclusion, joy and community — welcoming dancers of all backgrounds and abilities.
Thursday class times:
- Ages 3–5: 3:20–4:05pm
- Ages 6–10: 4:10–4:55pm
- Ages 11+: 5pm–5:45pm
Whether it’s a child’s first time trying dance or a chance to build on existing passion, 4D Dance creates a welcoming space to explore, move and thrive.

Art Club
With the Artist Bookbinder. Creativity, Fun, and Mindfulness for kids.
Art Club with Mariapaola (The Artist Bookbinder) offers children a creative space to explore painting, colouring, drawing, and more. Each week, young artists develop confidence and mindfulness through hands-on, imaginative activities designed to nurture self-expression and joy.
Where: Marleigh Primary Academy STEM Room
When: Sessions will run on Fridays from 7 November to 19 December (no session on 21 October):
- 3:15–4:00 pm: Reception & Year 1 – max 6 children (£57.35 for 6 sessions)
- 4:15–5:15 pm: Year 2 and above – max 8 children (£73.80 for 6 sessions)
To book, please email info@theartistbookbinder.com with your child’s name and school year. Places are limited and confirmed upon payment.
Children attending the school’s after-school club can join the after school club until 4:30 pm or from 4:30 pm—please mention this when booking, and Mariapaola will liaise with staff to arrange transitions.

Who’s the Artist Bookbinder?
Mariapaola, the Artist Bookbinder, is a Cambridge-based artist and a member of the Visual Artists Association and of the Society of Bookbinders. Passionate about the healing power of creativity, she earned a certificate in Art Therapy, deepening her understanding of how artistic expression can nurture wellbeing. Her work goes beyond creating beautiful pieces—she is dedicated to providing inspiring and mindful spaces where others can explore their own creativity.
