What is the PTFA?

Marleigh Primary’s PTFA (Parent Teacher and Friends Association) is a volunteer-led association committed to supporting the school by nurturing a strong community and raising funds to enrich the educational journey of every child at Marleigh Primary Academy.

Together, we can make our school a fun, engaging, and successful place, helping your children fly.

Our purpose

  • Community: Build a thriving and supportive school community through fun and inclusive organised events that bring parents, teachers and children together. Some highlights include our yearly Easter Egg Hunt and Christmas Fayre.
  • Fundraising: Raise funds to support the school. With school budgets being tight, money we raise can be spent on. fun and educational “extras” including school trips, playground equipment, educational experiences, and staging/sound systems.
  • Parent representation: Contribute to school decision-making. Committee members agree with the headteacher on how best to spend PTFA funds.

Support the PTFA

There has never been a more important time to support your PTFA. We rely on the help of parents, teachers and friends to continue our important work and make a real difference to our children’s school education and experience.

  1. Shop through Easyfundraising: Sign up to https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk so you can earn money for the PTFA as you shop online. You can find us under “Marleigh Primary Academy PTFA, Cambridge”.
  2. Volunteer at Events: Help set up, run stalls, or tidy up after events.
  3. Donate to Fundraising Efforts: From baked goods and raffle prizes to used school uniforms, your donations throughout the year make a big difference.
  4. Engage Local Businesses: If you own, or know of, any local businesses in Cambridge who would like to sponsor our events or donate prizes, we’d love to hear from you!
  5. Join the PTFA Committee: We are always looking for new parents/carers of Marleigh Primary Academy to join the PTFA!
  1. We hold an annual general meeting (AGM) to elect committee members and run through the previous year’s finances and successes.
  2. Extraordinary general meetings (EGM) can be held throughout the year if new committee roles need re-electing.
  3. We usually meet every 1-2 months in the evenings during the academic year via Teams.
