Home Learning Menu

Home learning is sent out on a Friday and is due in on Wednesdays.

Please choose and complete the following homework challenges linked to our learning this half term:

Science – Rocks and Soil
Collect or research different types of rocks or soil. Create a labelled diagram, chart or mini fact file explaining how rocks are formed or the different layers found in soil.

Science – Soil Investigation
Carry out a simple investigation to test soil from different places (e.g. garden, park, plant pot). You could observe colour, texture or how well water drains through it. Record your results using a table or drawings.

History – The Maya Civilisation
Create a fact file about the Maya. Include information about where they lived, what they believed, and something interesting about daily life or achievements.

PE – Gymnastics
Design a gymnastics sequence with at least six movements. Include a balance, a jump, a transition or roll, and a clear starting and finishing position. You can draw and label your sequence or practise it and write a short reflection.

RE – Standing Up for Beliefs
Research a person who stood up for what they believed in (past or present). Explain what they believed, what actions they took and why this was important.

French – Music and Celebrations
Research a French celebration or festival involving music. Create a poster showing when it happens, what music is involved and any traditional instruments or dances.

Music – South and West Africa
Listen to music from South or West Africa. Identify the instruments used and describe the rhythm or mood of the music. You could draw the instruments or create your own rhythm pattern.

PSHE (RSE) – Growing and Changing
Create an age-appropriate poster or leaflet explaining how people grow and change as they get older. Include information about emotions, friendships and who to talk to if you have questions or worries.

Computing – Data Handling: Mars Rover
Imagine you are part of the Mars Rover team. Choose one type of data for the rover to collect (e.g. distance travelled, rocks found, temperature). Create a table showing data for at least 5 days.
