Year 6 Residential Trip to the Grafham Water Centre, Huntingdon.

Monday 7 June – Wednesday 9 June 2027

Following on from last year’s residential visit, we are delighted to begin planning next year’s trip for your child.

We intend to follow the same successful arrangements as previous trips, with pupils from Fen Ditton Primary School and Marleigh Primary Academy attending together. This approach provides valuable social opportunities for children, alongside cost-saving and staffing benefits.

The residential will take place at Grafham Water Activity Centre in June and will run from Monday to Wednesday (3 days and 2 nights). Pupils will be camping and taking part in a range of exciting outdoor activities, including sailing, raft building, problem solving, archery and climbing.

The cost per child is £310.  We are asking for a non-refundable deposit of £50 per child, payable via My Child At School (MCAS) by Thursday 1st October 2026. 

About the trip

Grafham Water is situated near Huntingdon and is a well-established residential setting for schools in this area.  The Centre has great facilities including, a dining hall and extensive indoor and outdoor activity zones.

An exciting programme will be planned to include a good balance of problem solving teamwork and outdoor activities, including water sports and mountain biking.

We will be camping on the site in bell tents which will certainly add to the excitement and experience for the children. Catering for the 3 days is included.

Paying for the trip

Appreciating that the cost of residential trips is high, to support you we have broken down the figure into the following payments should you wish to pay in instalments.

Payment will need to be made online through your child’s MCAS account as follows:

Deposit of £50 (non-refundable) by 1 Oct 2026

Monthly payments of £37.14 from November 2026 to May 2027.

We would like all Year 6 pupils to attend so that they can benefit from this unique learning experience together with their peer group.
