Celebrating Sport, Teamwork and Leadership!
On a bright and energetic day this week, 74 pupils from Years 1 and 2 across Marleigh Primary Academy and Fen Ditton Primary School came together for a fantastic sports event packed with fun, fitness, and friendly competition.
The children took part in eight different activities, including throwing events, running races, target games, as well as netball and football shooting. The event was designed to help younger pupils develop key physical skills while enjoying the benefits of teamwork and outdoor play.
What made the day extra special was the involvement of our Year 6 Sports Leaders, who did an incredible job supporting the event. Five pupils from Year 6 stepped into leadership roles, helping to run the activity stations with maturity, encouragement and enthusiasm. They were brilliant role models and contributed greatly to the success of the day.
It was wonderful to see pupils from both schools working together, cheering each other on, and giving every activity their best effort. Events like this are a great reminder of the power of sport to bring us together, boost confidence and promote healthy, active lifestyles.
A huge well done to all the pupils who took part, and a special thank you to the staff and sports leaders who made the event such a success. We look forward to more shared events and continued collaboration between our sister schools in the future!
